Shivamogga marked its significance in Karnataka through its natural beauty, Weather, Lifestyle, Rivers, Falls, etc. In this city, the District Vokkaligara Sangha was established in the year 1948 –1949. Its main intention was to create a forum for the community and in due course started Boys Hostel for poor and students coming from rural parts of our district.
The Zilla Vokkaligara Sangha® believes that every individual from each stratum of society needs education to fulfill aspirations. The Sangha will constantly strive towards this societal need by inclusion and expansion of streams of academics in its institutions and further commits to match infrastructure for its effective enablement.
As the Sangha thought to expand its activities. It wished to establish an educational institution named after the great national poet of Malnad region Shri Kuvempu on the occasion of the birth centenary of the poet, we started Kuvempu Shathamanothsava Shikshana Mahavidyalaya on 11th January 2005. It was inaugurated by “Shri Balagangadharnath Swamiji” of Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math.
